Water Systems Supervisor (WS-470-10)

 

In this supervisory role, oversee the work of 24 personnel tasked with performing labor trades assignments for squadron, assuring all facility plumbing is maintained and operational, in support of mission requirements.  Duties include water production/distribution and assuring functionality of wastewater collection systems, operational backflow prevention devices, functioning of oil/water separators and that fire suppression systems are in place.   

 

Develop planning schedules and assign work, sequencing/prioritizing duties and setting work completion deadlines.  Utilize overall work schedules and policies as established by higher command levels.  Work closely with supervisory colleagues in coordinating work planning among various entities, directing personnel work assignments as needed, including determining number of individuals and job capabilities needed for accomplishing project goals.  Maintain close lines of communication with upper leadership, keeping them informed of any necessary schedule, labor or other resource requirement changes.  Play key role during planning and other relevant meetings/discussions regarding schedules, staffing needs and budgets.

Additionally, work with engineers regarding utility upgrade planning, including reviewing designs for new construction and offering advice/recommendations.    Provide input as member of planning team at Andersen AFB involved with in-place or anticipated utilities construction projects, participating in pre-final project inspections and meetings with contractors.   Perform QA inspections for all in-house as well as contracted work concerning utilities infrastructure, providing statement-of-work for in-house vendor projects.  Author monthly water/wastewater reports, providing estimates for required work, proposed scheduling and any technical direction/assistance required to accomplish assignment.  Resolve work-related problems, such as personnel/staffing issues or engineering-related concerns, reporting possible/actual work delays to higher level command, and offer assistance to supervisory colleagues in dealing with similar situations under their direction.

 

Tasked with managing and training subordinates, including providing both positive and negative feedback on performance; author and deliver annual personnel performance reviews.  Deal with personnel complaints/grievances, resolving when possible and directing to higher level command when necessary.   Develop comprehensive master leave schedule, taking into consideration mission readiness/requirements, and assure all employees receive needed training, including regarding being compliant with all security directives and establishing/maintaining optimum safety and health practices.
