Knowledge of all aspects of producing and directing both live broadcasts and videotaped programs at a television studio.

As an Independent Technical Director/Camera Operator, Technical Director and Studio Technician for E.L. Hamm/Postal Satellite Training Network my professional success has been founded and built upon knowledge of all aspects of producing and directing both live broadcasts and videotaped programs in a television studio environment.

As an independent Technical Director and/or Camera Operator I have had private, government, and individual clients such as Reuters, Voice of America, HUD, and Alharra from which I gained experience in operating television, video, or motion picture cameras to capture images or scenes for various purposes, such as TV broadcasts, advertising, video production, or motion pictures. My responsibilities include overseeing activities of radio or television studio and control-room personnel to ensure technical quality of picture and sound for programs originating in studio or from remote pickup points.

My responsibilities are wide ranging from direct technical aspects of newscasts and other productions, checking and switching between video sources, and taking responsibility for the on-air product, including camera shots and graphics. My expertise includes knowledge of filter options, lens choices, and the visual effects of objects being filmed and the ability to follow instructions from production managers and directors during productions, such as commands for camera cuts, effects, graphics, and takes.

As a Camera Operator, I monitor broadcasts to ensure that programs conform to station or network policies and regulations by observing pictures through monitors, and directing camera and video staff concerning shading and composition. Often times, I personally operate equipment to produce programs or broadcast live programs that require that I set up and execute video transitions and special effects such as fades, dissolves, cuts, keys, and supers, using computers to manipulate images necessary.

As a leader and Technical Director, I am capable of supervising and assigning duties to other workers engaged in technical control and production of radio and television programs that requires switching between video sources in a studio or on multi-camera remotes, using equipment such as switchers, video slide projectors, and video effects generator, and when necessary I train workers in use of equipment such as switchers, cameras, monitors, microphones, and lights.

Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

Throughout my progressive rise from a rookie Technical Director to more seasoned Technical Director and Camera Operator, I ve consistently communicated with clients and internal/external leaders of organizations. I incorporate my ability to communicate both orally and in writing, communicating with candor and persuasion to enable understanding and influence. I choose the most appropriate mode for communicating my messages and use effective language to express information clearly in well-constructed letters, proposals, reports, memos, and email. Over the years, I have been required to maintain impeccably written documents and produce detailed reports. I proofread all reports to ensure the accuracy and completeness of records, and deliver important data to the intended recipient.

Of course, I ensure that all of my documentation is grammatically correct, spelling error free, and reviewed for both content and format to avoid any unnecessary miscommunication. I make sure that my written words say exactly what I mean and have the ability to quickly analyze, organize, write, and revise any document. I use expressive words, keep sentences and paragraphs short, and keep thoughts simple. I format documents so that they are inviting to look at and easy to read. I use various techniques that involve the reader and create the feeling of personal communication. These factors alone contribute significantly to the influence of my written communications.

Verbally, I have learned that whether I am speaking with staff, management, executives, internal/external stakeholder, or upper-level senior management, it is imperative that I always show the utmost respect for people. My duties have included instructing camera operators regarding camera setups, angles, distances, movement, and variables and cues for starting and stopping filming. The technical nature of directing and producing television programs requires knowledge of how important it is to communicate orally with people, but also how to lead, train, and instruct people.

I communicate in a persuasive manner when convince others of the validity of my points. It is with great tact that I handle clients issues offering concern and identifying the underlying issues before speaking. When training staff, I offer information in a clear and concise manner that does not leave room for ambiguity. My speaking voice is clear and I pronounce words accurately as to allow for complete understanding by all who listen.

Knowledge of the agency, the organizational structure and the TV Studio.

I understand that the IRS is a bureau of the Department of the Treasury and one of the world's most efficient tax administrators. The goal of the IRS is to provide America's taxpayers top quality service by helping them understand and meet their tax responsibilities and by applying the tax law with integrity and fairness to all. Overall, in the United States, the Congress passes tax laws and requires taxpayers to comply. The taxpayer s role is to understand and meet his or her tax obligations. The IRS role is to help the large majority of compliant taxpayers with the tax law, while ensuring that the minority who are unwilling to comply pay their fair share.

The television studio consists of cameras, lighting grid, microphones; monitors, video, talkback, cables, and sets. Additionally, the studio includes a chroma wall (green screen) and teleconferencing equipment.
