"THE RESUME "OBJECTIVE" DILEMMA" - Part 2

  Whichever strategy you choose, ensure that your writing style is geared toward highlighting what you can offer the employer, (NOT the perks and criteria YOU are seeking.) Too often job seekers put together a poorly-written Objective statement that comes off as selfish. For example, someone who writes "Seeking sales position offering excellent opportunities for advancement" -- is probably disqualifying themselves before an employer even reads the remainder of the resume. The candidate is obviously already thinking about what THEY want before they are even granted an interview. Obviously, earning promotions is important to most people and, consequently, this does not belong on a resume.
